Spring Crafts

March 31, 2017

Spring is finally here, and that means warmer weather, blooming flowers, colorful butterflies, and Easter! Celebrate the season with these 14 charming, kid-friendly crafts. Enjoy!

1. Easter Egg Wreath

Supplies:

  • Various sheets of pastel printed paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Glue
  • Paper plate

Directions:

  1. Sketch an Easter-egg shape to use as a stencil. Use the stencil to trace Easter eggs on the sheets of printed paper. Cut them out, then set aside.
  2. Fold the paper plate in half and cut out a half circle. Unfold the paper plate to create the base for the wreath.
  3. Glue the Easter eggs around the wreath. Be sure to layer the eggs so the wreath is full.
  4. Once all the Easter eggs are adhered to the wreath, cut an 8-inch piece of ribbon, loop it, and glue it to the top of the wreath.

2. Paper Roll Bumblebee

Supplies:

  • Toilet paper roll
  • Glue (or tape)
  • Black, yellow, and white construction paper
  • Black pen
  • Scissors

Directions:

  1. Start by cutting your yellow construction paper into a smaller rectangle and wrapping it around the toilet paper roll. Overlapping is okay—it doesn’t have to be exact!
  2. After gluing the yellow paper around the toilet paper roll, cut the black paper into two long thin strips for the stripes on the bee and two thinner, shorter strips for the bee’s antennae.
  3. Next, cut two small circles out of the white paper and draw a black circle on each of them for the bee’s eyes. Cut out two bigger ovals out of the same paper for the bee’s wings.
  4. Now put your bee together! Glue (or tape) the antennae to the inside of the top of the toilet paper roll, wrap the black stripes around the middle and bottom of the outside of the toilet paper roll, and glue (or tape) the eyes and wings. All that’s missing is a smile! Draw it on with your pen and watch your buzzing bumblebee grin!

3. Sunny Daffodil

Supplies:

  • Yellow construction paper
  • Cupcake Liner
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Glue
  • Green Paint
  • Paint Brush

Directions:

  1. Trace a daffodil on the yellow construction paper. Make sure it’s large enough that the cupcake liner can fit inside!
  2. Glue the cupcake liner onto the flower.
  3. Paint the Popsicle stick green. Wait for it to dry!
  4. Glue the Popsicle stick onto the back of the daffodil. And now you have a lovely flower!
